March 2009
Thanks for visiting Mountainfreak.net! Winter is being stubborn as March arrives this year. As I write this, snow and 40 mile per hour gusts are being predicted for later today. I never can remember the "in Like a lion, out like a lamb" thing-I probably have it backwards...but I do know I am ready for spring and the opportunities that it brings in the north Georgia mountains.
Despite all the gloom, doom and bad news we get bombarded with daily now..I am optimistic that folks at least still like to enjoy themselves and get out of the house. The mountains are a great getaway-and 5 million folks live within a 2.5 hour drive. It doesn't cost much to take a day trip or even a weekend trip relative to other forms of entertainment-and the beauty is free. Mountainfreak.net hopes we provide some good (and frugal) ideas to our readers about the things to do and places to see-and we welcome suggestions we can pass along.
I think we have some good stuff for you this month..and we are already working on next month with a couple of trips in the pipeline. We hope you have a great March..we certainly plan to!
Enjoy,
Sid-
